high country harvest

Last weekend, Jon and I took a little road trip to check out some High Country Harvest events in Beechworth and Bright. It was beautiful up there, just as I'd imagined. Many trees had lost their leaves already, but there were plenty still covered with brilliant yellows, reds and oranges. In the right light, some trees almost looked like they were glowing. I'm not sure my photos could do justice to those spectacular colours, but it was definitely fun getting in those crunchy piles of leaves to take them anyway :)

As always, I've got lots of food photos to share. Most are from our lunch at Simone's in Bright. It was a four hour, four course feast (with a couple of sweet extras – see the hops sorbet below). Each of our courses had been created to complement a different Bright Brewery beer. Everything looked and tasted amazing, and the food/beer matches were perfect. I'm already looking forward to next year's harvest.
